- A New Pastor…
Administry has asked the officers of the church to begin the process of naming a Search Team for Bridgeport’s next Pastor! The officers will be reviewing the information provided to us by Rev. Walter John Boris, our Central Pacific Conference Minister, to get a clear idea of what is expected of a Search Team. Then the officers will be asking the congregation for nominations of church members who are currently active to serve on this important team. Stay tuned and pray for God’s guidance and blessings in this process!
- New Songbooks
Here’s an opportunity to help purchase pew copies of the new United Church of Christ songbook, Sing! Prayer and Praise. For just $13, you can make a contribution in memory or in honor of someone you love. A bookplate will be placed inside a songbook, and a handmade card is available to send to the ones you have chosen to honor. Look for forms on the back table of the sanctuary. Our order must be placed before December 31 in order to receive the discount offered by the UCC. We will collect the monies in January. This new songbook will be a contemporary complement to the hymns in our New Century Hymnal, enhancing the music program at Bridgeport, and commemorate our loved ones.
- Bridgeport Food Pantry
We are seeking your help to restock the pantry. Please check the kiosk at the back of the church for the donation schedule. Each donation, regardless of size, is helpful. The pantry is open to everyone at Bridgeport. The collection box and pantry are both downstairs in the kitchen. If you have questions, contact anyone on the Justice and Witness Team: Kaye Exo, Mollie Mitchell, and Karen Miller.
- Family Winter Shelter – Doors Open November 1 – March, 2012
Last year, members and friends at Bridgeport supported the Homeless Family Warming Center with donations of clothing and food, and assistance at the Center. This year, we would like to again extend Bridgeport’s involvement at the Family Winter Shelter located at Eastminster Presbyterian Church (125th & NE Halsey), helping local families to escape poverty and homelessness. Look on the back table in the sanctuary for specific information and a targeted list of donations that Bridgeport will be gathering. For a full list of opportunites to volunteer and donate, check out the Human Solutions website.
- Pledge Cards for 2012
If you didn’t get a chance to fill out a Pledge Card for the coming year, it’s not too late! The Finance Team will use this important information for preparing our budget and anticipating our finances for the future. Your pledge will help us meet our needs and maybe even dream a little. A little dream can go a long way in a spirit-filled community like ours.
